Post-frame construction methodology and space saving open-concept design uses 50% less building materials than conventional wood framed construction. The materials we use are largely locally produced, low  maintenance, and include - metal roofs, spray foam insulation, stained board-n-batten rough-cut hemlock wood siding and architectural concrete in floor raidiant heat systems.

Not only are Barn Livin's Homes economical to construct, but they are energy efficient and reduce your carbon footprint.  The architectural concrete first floor system has an in-floor radiant heat system inclusive of a space-saving-wall-hung high-efficiency boiler to generate both heat and on-demand domestic hot water. The exterior envelope’s energy efficient components such as spray foam insulation along with multi-pane windows & doors, minimizing heat loss.  The orientation of windows, skylights, and patio door systems use renewable passive solar energy during the winter months.  Reversible directional ceiling fans circulate heat during winter months and work in conjunction with clerestory operable windows to offer ventilation during summer months.  The architectural concrete first floor system and the stone wall behind the wood stove, act as heat masses storing warmth generated by the sun, wood stove fires and the in-floor radiant heat system.
